A woman drove from her West Palm Beach office Tuesday to the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department to report that a man had been stalking her.
Driving not far behind her was that man, Michael Dean Moye, according to a police report.
Police charged the 55-year-old Acreage man with aggravated stalking, according to court records.
The two previously were in a relationship but had been estranged for more than a year, according to a police report. She was scared for her safety, she told West Palm Beach police who interviewed her at the Palm Beach Gardens police headquarters on Military Trail. Moye had sent her threatening texts, left intimidating voice messages and waited outside her office.
The woman called 911 when she saw Moye as she left work Tuesday. She talked to the operator while on her way to Palm Beach Gardens. An officer from that department pulled over Moye and put him into custody.
The woman showed police the texts Moye had sent, even after she changed her number so he would stop contacting her.
“You want to block me from the cellphone I purchased … how’s that working out for you?” one text read.
Another told her to watch her back, according to a police report.
Moye told police he was just messing around with her. As for being at her office, he said he did that every day.
Moye was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on a $3,000 bond, according to jail records.
