A Riviera Beach woman doused an apartment with gasoline Monday night, city police said.
Ashley Moody had a key to the Riviera apartment, she told police, but a Palm Beach County judge had ordered she couldn’t go within 500 feet of the home or contact the man who lived there.
“He can’t tell me what to do,” Moody said about the judge as police arrested her on charges of attempted arson and violation of the no contact order. Court records show she was being held on a $100,000 bond in the Palm Beach County Jail on Wednesday morning.
The man who lived in the home — who once was in a relationship with the 25-year-old woman — called Riviera police at about 8 Monday night to say a woman was in his apartment “acting crazy.”
Moody poured gasoline throughout the apartment and was planning to burn the place, the man told police.
Moody is slated to appear before a county judge again Oct. 19, according to court records.
