A Palm Beach Gardens man facing charges that he burglarized his ex-girlfriend’s house arrived at the home in an Uber, according to an arrest report.
John Turkowsky was caught allegedly burglarizing the home Sunday by Palm Beach Gardens police. He was heard by an officer breaking items in a backyard porch at the house in Catalina Lakes, on the 400 block of Capistrano Drive.
A person inside the home called police after she recognized Turkowsky and saw him causing havoc, the report said.
When police arrived, they spoke to an Uber driver who said Turkowsky asked to be taken to his ex-girlfriend’s home. Once they arrived, Turkowsky told the driver to “wait a couple of minutes,” the report said.
Police said that Turkowsky caused $3,500 worth of damage, breaking a glass table, damaging the screen of the back porch and smashing multiple flower pots.
A woman at the home told police she dated Turkowsky for two years but hadn’t heard from him since they broke up in April.
Turkowsky, 55. is facing charges of burglary and criminal mischief of more than $1,000.
