Lenny Norvens Lejean was arrested Monday and is facing charges of aggravated battery causing bodily harm and two counts of criminal mischief between $200 and $1,000. Lejean, 27, is being held while he undergoes a mental health evaluation, according to court records.

An off-duty Boynton Beach police officer was approached by a witness who said that Lejean was throwing things at an apartment door and “going crazy” at the Clipper Cove Apartments on the 1500 block of Southern Cross Lane.

The witness said he saw Lejean rip the side-view mirrors off a BMW. Lejean then allegedly jumped on top of a Boynton Beach police cruiser parked next to the BMW. The witness said Lejean tore off the right-side mirror of the vehicle.

A 25-year-old man confronted Lejean and the two began fighting. Lejean allegedly threw a bicycle at the man then came at him to fight. The 25-year-old man grabbed a piece of wood and struck Lejean. The off-duty officer arrived at the scene and forced both men to the ground at gunpoint, the report said.

Lejean sustained a laceration to the side of his head. The man who fought with Lejean was not arrested.
