suburban Palm Beach Gardens man was arrested Saturday, two days after he allegedly beat his girlfriend up twice after she brought her dog into the house, according to an arrest report.

The victim had a black eye, a welt on her forehead and “significant” cuts to her forearms and shin, the report said. The attack concluded the man allegedly urinated on the woman as she protected her dog, which was nursing puppies.

Mayford Gene Bowles is facing a charge of battery causing bodily harm. He was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on Sunday after posting a $1,000 bond.

The victim told Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies that she was attacked on Thursday with a broken picture frame.

The woman went into a bedroom with her dog and closed the door. Bowles followed by spraying a fire extinguisher under the door, the report said.

The woman opened the door and then draped herself over her dog while it nursed “to protect the dog from Mr. Bowles,” the report said.

Bowles then allegedly urinated on the woman.
