The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office called the K-9 unit and helicopter to help find him a Riviera Beach man Friday who took off from a West Palm Beach CVS with nearly three dozen sticks of deodorant and multiple electric shavers.
Deputies say 52-year-old Vernon Lee White fled the CVS on Forest Hill Boulevard near Haverhill Road at about 11 a.m. Friday in a getaway car, which had been stolen, with two other people.
The three took deputies on a four-mile chase north, ending at the Wal-Mart on Belvedere Road. While he was detained in the back of a patrol car, White said Sheriff Ric Bradshaw will have “lots of blood on his hands” when White is released from jail, according to a sheriff’s office report. Deputies said White made several other threats to shoot law enforcement, as well.
White is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on a $15,000 bond on charges of retail theft and threatening officers.
