On Wednesday night, deputies searched for a man wanted in a domestic battery case on Orlando Avenue and North Military Trail, just north of Okeechobee Boulevard, with help from a helicopter, K9 units and other deputies.

Once Vidal was located in a garage nearby, K9 Alex was sent in to apprehend him, and that’s when deputies say the West Palm Beach-area man punched the dog several times in the face. Vidal also punched one of the deputies involved as well, according to the report.

Vidal was previously convicted of resisting an officer and arrested at least twice for domestic abuse, but the charges were not filed, according to court records.
