A Pahokee woman is facing multiple charges after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend during an argument early Tuesday.
Lathisha Jones, 31, is facing charges of aggravated battery, resisting an officer without violence and violation of probation. Her arrest came after Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 700 block of Joe Louis Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday and found a 33-year-old man bleeding from his arm.
The man, who appeared to have a stab wound, refused medical attention, deputies said. When asked about his wound, he reportedly told deputies it happened while he was at work.
The man and Jones were both intoxicated, deputies said. Jones reportedly ran away from the scene, but was caught after a short foot chase.
When asked about the cuts on her boyfriend’s arm, Jones explained that they had argued and she defended herself as she felt he was going to “jump on her.”
However, she later stated she and her boyfriend were playing inside when he slipped and fell while holding a knife in his hand. Jones told deputies she and the man have been a “married couple” for six years. Deputies determined that she was the primary aggressor and took her into custody.
Jones was being held without bail Wednesday at the Palm Beach County Jail.
