A 55-year-old Tequesta man is accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend with repeated phone calls and text messages.
Palm Beach Gardens police Thursday arrested Marvin G. James on charges of stalking and making harassing calls. Officers say he went to his former girlfriend’s home Thursday evening, in violation of a trespass warning, and knocked on her windows, according to an arrest report made public Friday.
He also made about 20 phone calls to her and sent her numerous text messages. A police officer answered one of the calls and informed James that the woman wanted him to stop making the calls. James was belligerent throughout that conversation, according to the arrest report.
Despite being warned that he could be charged with harassment, James called two more times and sent 10 text messages, police said.
“If you call the cops, it will be on,” one text read.
Officers were able to determine his location and placed him under arrest. They suspected he was intoxicated when they took him into custody.
James remained in the Palm Beach County Jail late Saturday, with his bail set at $500.
