A man threatened two employees of a Jupiter cafe with a broken beer bottle and demanded free beer and a cup of coffee Thursday evening, town police say.

Christopher Ryan Manos, 29, walked into Agua ‘e Coco, a Colombian cafe on Indiantown Road at Central Boulevard, brandishing a broken Corona bottle and aggressively pointing it at two female employees, according to an arrest report.

Manos demanded beer, which the cafe doesn’t sell. The employees spoke with Manos while they tried to reach a panic button behind the counter, the report says.

Manos then demanded a cup of coffee, the women told police. They convinced him to throw the bottle away in exchange for a cup of coffee, and he complied, police say.

Manos stole one of the employees’ cellphone and said, “The police don’t know nothing. They don’t understand,” according to the report. He drank the coffee and left the store.

Officers later found Manos at a nearby gas station.

Manos faces an armed robbery charge. He is being held without bail at the Palm Beach County Jail pending a mental health evaluation, according to court records.
