Nicole Lanell Wright, 34, is charged with two counts of neglect. A neighbor at the Boca Raton apartment complex called police when she saw the infants walking throughout the parking lot without supervision, the arrest report says.

The 2-year-old wore only a diaper, while the 1-year-old wore a pink onesie when police found them at about 8:10 a.m.

It isn’t specified whether Wright is their mother, but police say she is responsible for the children’s welfare.

Officers knocked on Wright’s door, but no one answered. They entered and found a 12-year-old girl sleeping, police say.

Wright returned home 30 minutes later and told police she left only to drop her husband off for work. She declined to answer any questions without a lawyer present, police say.

The three children were left in the care of the Florida Department of Children and Families and their father.

Wright was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on $6,000 bail Friday evening.
