Boynton police: 13 drug dealers busted in month-long undercover operation
Boynton Beach police have arrested or issued warrants for 13 suspected drug dealers in just four days, following a month-long undercover operation.
After controlled drug buys conducted by agents in “Operation Dope Death,” police also seized 62 grams of heroin, 82.5 grams of cocaine, 90.4 grams of marijuana, more than $4,000 in cash, eight cars and one gun, said Stephanie Slater, police spokeswoman.
The department conducted the operation in response to the rise in drug overdoses in the city, which has seen 95 reported overdoses since January. Five deaths appear to be the result of drug overdose.
Of the 13 dealers, 10 have been booked into the Palm Beach County Jail since Monday. A 17-year-old was arrested and charged with heroin sale. Two other suspected dealers haven’t been booked into jail, but warrants for their arrest were issued, court records show.
