PBSO: Lake Worth man requests deportation after arrest for molestation

Andres Camargo

A suburban Lake Worth man asked to be sent back to Mexico after he was arrested for allegedly molesting a young girl, authorities said.

Andres Camargo, 56, was taken into custody Thursday on five counts of lewd and lascivious molestation on a child under the age of 12, and two counts of showing obscene material to a minor.

After his arrest, Camargo allegedly admitted to the inappropriate conduct and told Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies “I would rather you send me back to Mexico than me go to jail here.”

He remained in custody at the Palm Beach Jail Friday after a judge set his bail bond amount at $300,000.

According to an arrest report, the girl told investigators Camargo made her watch adult videos and he touched various areas of her body on multiple occasions. He told the girl not to tell her mother about the touching. The report does not specify Camargo’s relationship to the child.

Camargo reportedly told deputies the girl observed a show he was watching on an adult cable channel. He also admitted to touching the girl under her clothing, the arrest report said.
