PBSO: Man being arrested says he knows his rights, curses deputy, Donald Trump

When a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to read an arrested man his Miranda rights, the 43-year-old had a couple things to say:

“I know my rights. (Expletive) you. (Expletive) Trump,” Christopher Reed said, according to the report.

On Thursday afternoon, Reed was in his home west of Lantana allegedly drinking and cursing at his wife. He became more agitated with the woman for unknown reasons and threw a glass whiskey bottle at her, she told investigators. Though it missed her, the bottle shattered. The woman told deputies she ran from the home and hid behind a shed as her husband followed, threatening to beat her. Reed allegedly picked up a bicycle and threw it at her, missing her again. She said she ran from the home with her daughter to authorities to get help.

Deputies went to Reed’s home where he explained he threw the items because his wife wouldn’t “shut up.” As deputies read him his rights, he said he knew them, then cursed the deputy and republican presidential candidate front-runner, and part-time Palm Beach resident, Donald Trump. It is unclear why he cursed Trump.

Reed is not registered to vote in Palm Beach County, according to records.

Reed faces two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon and one count of simple battery. As of Saturday, Reed remained in the Palm Beach County jail on $3,000 bail.

He has no other criminal history in Palm Beach County, according to court records.
