A 32-year-old Lake Worth man faces a stalking charge after banging on the windows and doors of his ex-girlfriend’s home on Valentine’s Day, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reports.

After showing up unannounced and uninvited to the woman’s home Sunday afternoon, Mikhail V. Mushtyats demanded to speak to his ex-girlfriend. She wasn’t home at the time.

A man opened up the door and demanded that Mushtyats leave, the arrest report says.

Mushtyats started banging on the windows and the on the glass sliding door in the back, the man told deputies.

The ex-girlfriend later showed up at the home and called the sheriff. The day before, Mushtyats had followed her from her home to a nearby Walgreens. He also sent her several text messages following the break-up, begging to meet with her, and called several times, the arrest report says.

Police found Mushtyats after the victim identified his car — a black Kia with a red hood.

Mushtyats has no criminal history in Palm Beach County. He was released from jail under court supervision on Monday.
