A domestic dispute led to a suburban Lake Worth woman’s arrest Thursday after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend with a kitchen knife.

Kimika Watson, 25, believed her boyfriend was cheating on her with another woman after seeing text messages on his cellphone, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said. She was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

She was released Friday under court-ordered supervision. Watson allegedly told a deputy she only meant to poke her boyfriend with the knife and did not intend to stab him, the affidavit said.

The alleged stabbing happened at about 10 a.m. Thursday at a home on Serafica Drive. Deputies arrived and found a 24-year-old man bleeding from his shoulder, according a probable-cause arrest affidavit made public Friday. The man was flown by Trauma Hawk  to St. Mary’s Medical Center with a stab wound to his left shoulder-blade

A deputy entered the home and found Watson sitting on a chair in the family room, the affidavit said.  The deputy noted that she had a bloody lip. Watson reportedly told the deputy that she confronted her boyfriend about the text messages.

She alleged that the man reacted angrily and hit her in the mouth with his arm, knocking her to the ground. Watson got up and retrieved a knife from the kitchen, the affidavit said. She allegedly stabbed her boyfriend when he turned away from her.
