Police are searching for a man who robbed a Regions Bank in Boynton Beach on Friday by claiming he had a bomb.

The man came into the bank, on Gateway Boulevard, just after 2 p.m. and pressed a handwritten note against the teller’s glass window. The note claimed that the man had a bomb, police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said.

He fled in a white, newer model Ford Fiesta with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police believe the bank robber is in his early 40s. He was clean-shaven and wearing sunglasses, latex gloves and a straw landscaping hat.
