A large disturbance on New Year’s Day landed a Palm Beach Gardens man in jail after he allegedly fired shots into a home.

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Robert Nunn, 24, Friday on a charge of shooting into an occupied dwelling.  He was being held at the Palm Beach County Jail Monday night in lieu of $20,000 bail.

His arrest came after deputies investigated a reported stabbing Friday morning in an  unincorporated pocket of Jupiter on Third Street.  Shortly after 9 a.m. Friday, a woman reported that her nephew had been stabbed during an altercation with a neighbor. The stabbing victim was taken to Jupiter Medical Center for treatment.

Deputies reviewed footage from a security camera and observed a fight break out when a group of four or five people approached a man’s home, according to an arrest report made public Monday. The resident of the home reportedly told deputies later  he was cooking on a grill and used a knife in his hand to defend himself.

The report does not indicate what started the fight.

The camera footage reportedly showed a group, including Nunn,  approach the home minutes after the initial altercation. The footage allegedly showed Nunn take out what appeared to be a silver or white object from his waistband. Two shell casings were later found in the area where he was standing, the report said.  There were reportedly were also two bullets that went into a window by the front door.

Deputies patted Nunn down, but did not find a gun, the report said.  He  reportedly told deputies he went to the accuser’s home because he was upset that his friend had been  stabbed. However, he denied having a gun, deputies said.

A witness told deputies he saw Nunn pull a firearm from his waistband, the arrest report said.
