A Pompano Beach man facing a DUI charge was allegedly driving a stolen car and attempting to sell stolen items when he was stopped, according to an arrest report.

Frederick Scott Klein faces charges of DUI, grand theft of a motor vehicle, grand theft between $300 and $5,000, dealing in stolen property, drug equipment possession and two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Klein is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Klein was stopped by North Palm Beach police on the 700 block of Hummingbird Way while driving a 2014 Mini Cooper. Various electronic devices were found inside the car, the report said.

After Klein’s arrest, police contacted the owner of the Mini Cooper. The woman told police that Klein had recently been staying with her, but did not have permission to use her car or take her electronic devices, which included two iPods and a charger.

A witness told police that Klein approached him in the Mini Cooper and attempted to sell him the stolen electronics.

A plastic box in the vehicle contained several pills of controlled substances, the report said.
